Our second day of travel was pretty long due to an early start, traffic, and long boring stretches of road. We left Mohnton, PA at 7:00 and arrived in Washington D.C. at 10 a.m. to see our friends, Michelle and Janet, both who live and work in the city right now. After scrambling around to find parking, we went to a little place on Wisconsin Avenue to eat some breakfast and visited with our friends, finding out about their jobs.
We then left D.C. around 12 and immediately hit construction which set us back a little bit. So far, the traffic in the city was the roughest we've seen. The road through North Carolina took about 4 hours and we finally arrived at the Clarks at 9:00 p.m. in Pickens, SC. Along the way, our journey reached 1,000 miles which is about one third of the trip.
Brittany made some yummy pizza for our arrival and the Droddy family came over to say hi. The next morning we visited with Lee and then started out on the road again.
